The Astaire Way
Our programs are designed for beginner level dancers with no experience to dancers with many years of experience. We teach both American
and International ballroom styles of dance and can design a program just for you. We offer all the dances that you will need for any social
situation. Foxtrot, Waltz, Swing, Cha cha, Rumba, Samba, Mambo, Salsa and other popular dances can be used at parties, corporate social
events and weddings. At the beginner level, you will focus on partner dancing skills such as leading, following, technique and rhythm. As you
progress, more advanced techniques will be introduced.
We offer both private and group lessons. While we do not form the groups, individuals can form their own groups for even better value. Talk to
family and friends and learn to dance as a group. All dance students have the opportunity to participate in supervised group practice sessions
twice a month.
Our studio is open Monday – Thursday from 6 – 10 pm. Other times may be arranged with your instructor.
Call or Email the studio and make an appointment to get started today! We do not require yearly contracts and can customize a schedule that
meets your needs.
"We first met Jerry and Linda after being invited to a "Fifties Party" about 15 years ago. We thought that we'd take 3 or 4 swing
lessons for the party, and, though we loved to dance, we had no interest in continuing lessons. We were quickly impressed with
their knowledge and expertise in all of the ballroom dances, and became intrigued with the idea of learning more. What followed
were fifteen years of lessons, competitions, exhibitions, and good times at many, many dances. Even more importantly, a strong
friendship with these two fine people, one which will last a lifetime, has developed. For us, our "three or four" swing lessons"
evolved to become one of the most memorable and enjoyable experiences of our lives."

Benefits of Dance
FUN: Although your commitment to learn to dance will demand commitment, concentration, dedication and
time, you will be constantly surrounded by artistic, cheerful people who will make your instruction at Fred Astaire
Dance Studio a most pleasurable and rewarding experience.
FRIENDSHIPS: Beyond instruction, dancing opens a wide spectrum of social settings in which friendships are
forged and dreams come true. Scheduled Fred Astaire West Reading Dance Studio practice, dance parties,
local, regional and national competitions and fun nights out provide dancers with a full social calendar.
CONFIDENCE: Dancers possess an aura of self-confidence and an ability to enjoy themselves more in public
settings. Their entire mental outlook takes on a renewed sense of creativity, motivation and energy.
CREATIVITY: Dance provides an emotional outlet in which a person can truly reflect his or her feelings through
body movement. The ability to dance is present in everyone, it only needs to be cultivated through sound
instruction methods. Then you’re on your own, expressing yourself with passion and flair.
HEALTH: Dancing helps the body’s circulatory system as it makes your heart pump blood faster. Dancing
encourages weight control and overall fitness through calorie burn off. The constant movement and muscle
extension during dance sessions also provides a pleasing, mild exercise most people long for but rarely
achieve, especially in such pleasant circumstances.
